Manufacturing PMI from Japan, remaining for October 2024:

• preliminary was 49.zero
• prior 49.7

From the report, not very encouraging for the Japanese economic system:

• stronger deterioration in
  the well being of the manufacturing sector in Japan
• output
  fell solely marginally however on the strongest charge since April
• new orders contracted on the steepest tempo for 3
  months
• Corporations typically talked about weak spot in home and
  international demand had weighed on gross sales and output, notably
  in semiconductors and autos.
• items producers signalling a renewed fall in
  buying exercise
• broad stagnation in employment
  ranges
• companies more and more
  labored via backlogs of labor, an indication that new order
  inflows aren’t sufficient to maintain manufacturing
• confidence was little-changed from the near-two 12 months low
  seen in September

  the timing of the restoration from the present financial
  malaise
