Canada PM Trudeau says has counter-tariffs prepared If Trump launches a commerce warfare

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau dpoke in an interview with CNBC on Sunday:

“As we did final time, we’re prepared to reply with tariffs as crucial”

Trudeau is referring right here to 2018, when Canada slapped dollar-for-dollar tariffs on U.S. metal and aluminum in response to the Trump tariffs on Canada’s metal and aluminum throughout NAFTA negotiations.

Trudeau on electrical energy exports to the U.S.:

• “No American needs to pay 25 % extra for electrical energy or oil and gasoline coming in from Canada”

• “And that’s one thing that I believe folks must pay a bit of extra consideration to … . will enhance the price of dwelling for People and hurt a buying and selling relationship that works extraordinarily nicely”
