Canada's Carney guidelines out matching US tariffs dollar-for-dollar

The April 28 Canadian election is closing in and Liberal Mark Carney has constructed a substantial lead within the polls. He is out with some feedback on tariffs:

• Guidelines out matching US tariffs dollar-for-dollar
• Cites Canada’s small economic system and the necessity for strategic stress over symbolic motes
• New method targets US industries selectively whereas minimizing hurt to home sectors, with exceptions particularly for automakers working in Canada

I am sensing extra of a worldwide shift to this type of rhetoric. Whether or not that is concern of American retribution of pragmatism is hard to discern as there are arguments for each.
